  1. Where do we get all the information?
    We receive new articles and information daily from various resources around the world, providing our members with up to date, educational and interesting historical information. Our sport database, SPORTDiscus, keeps all the articles in order once our qualified indexers have sorted through and categorized each article, book, theses or dissertation.
  2. What information areas will help me?
    Depending on your research, questions or interest our resources can help you with grassroots information to highly scientific research. Some of the subject areas on the database are Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation, Physical Fitness, Coaching & Training, Physical Education, Physical Therapy, Corporate Wellness, Exercise Physiology, Sport Science, Child Healthcare, Recreation, Health & Safety, Biomedicine, Complementary Therapies (Acupuncture to Yoga) and more.
  3. Where does the information come from?
    As we pride ourselves in helping our members expand their knowledge of sport, sport science and fitness we want to make sure that we have a variety of information available. We receive most of our information from Journal articles, E-Journal articles, Books, Book Chapters, Book Reviews, Conference Proceedings, videotapes, CD ROMs, DVDs, Audiotapes, Websites, and the dissertation/thesis collection from Kinesiology Publications (University of Oregon).
  4. In how many languages can I access the information?
    With Canada’s diverse culture it is important that everyone has access to the information from our resource centre. We host over 58 different languages.
  5. If I am looking for historical information can I find it through your resources?
    We have some journal and monograph coverage dating back to the 1800s.
  6. How do I gain access to the resource’s information?
    In order to see and read the information provided by the resource centre you must first become a member.
  7. How do I become a member?
    Please visit our member’s section and apply to become a member. If you are working with an association check to make sure the association does not already have permission to access the information.
  8. How do I suggest an event?
    To suggest an event select the Events tab and then select “Suggest and event”. Your event will require approval by a SIRC member before it will be posted.
  9. How many experts do you host? How can I become an expert?
    We host over 27 experts for more specific questions. If you are a qualified person and interested in becoming an expert please send us an email at the address below.
